Garden Visitors: The Rabbit....

 


I have so many rabbits around and about my house each day. Its lovely to see them hop about together .... but its not so lovely seeing them eating my fruit and vegetables!!

Ideas for exploring rabbits with young children ....

  • Rabbit puppets for role play
  • Wildlife books and magazines to look at photographs of rabbits or cut out and make  collages
  • Go on a walk through woodland or fields and see if you can spot any rabbits or signs of rabbits - take your binoculars and a sketch book or a camera
  • Explore furry textures 
  • Hop around like a rabbit out in the garden or around the house or nursery setting
  • Sing the 'Sleeping Bunnies' song for the children to join in with
  •  Visit a farm or pet shop to see rabbits
  • Paint or draw a rabbit 
  • Eat carrots for snack 
  • Make rabbit masks
  • Find objects beginning with the sound 'R' for rabbit or 'B' for Bunny
  • Find words that rhyme with rabbit or bunny
  • Read 'The Rhyming Rabbit' book by Julia Donaldson
